(little dragons everywhere)
Heya, clowder…
I have most definitely been MIA, but not for lack of ideas. I have The Plan ready to go for my Substack, including giving myself space to come up with future essay + story + podcast topics. (Yes. A podcast. I tell you, I have plans.)
“You're so cute when you're making plans,” the Goddess says. “There are more important things needing your attention right now, though.”
For that, I blame credit Chiron, once known as Pluto's moon, now (I think) given it's own status in the stars. Chiron is named after the wise centaur in Greek mythology who knew a whole lot, but could not heal himself when he was wounded. My natal Chiron is in Aries, and when this quasi-planet conjoined the North (lunar) node, also in Aries, on February 19th, a door of healing was thrown wide open for me.
Basically, I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and I recently had a hysteroscopy, where they stuck a camera into my uterus. They removed a polyp (!) during the procedure. As I have not borne any children in this life, I chose to have a wee medicine-assisted nap, rather than risk eviscerating the examiners, while they dilated my cervix to get said camera into my uterus. (results pending, but as I didn't get a phone call immediately afterwards, nothing too exciting. )
To sum further: I am navigating through life with Long Covid, iron-deficiency anemia, and sleep apnea, all against the backdrop of perimenopause. Any one of those things would be enough to throw me for a loop. All four of them working together, well, that proves to be one mighty big Distraction!
We're starting some more planetary action in Aries, with Mercury Retrograde and the Solar eclipse, and Chiron is here for all of it. After writing in my Morning Pages yesterday, I realized that I needed to shift my focus entirely, as I acknowledged my “new" marching orders: Thou Shalt Getteth Thine House in Order.
I am currently waiting for my insurance to sign off on a sexy CPAP machine for me to use at night. I also have my eye on an iron supplement I can take that I won't choke on, nor will it exacerbate any constipation issues. (Thank you Long Covid!) Himself has ordered some for me, so I will be starting it sometime this week.
As much as I am pivoting to take better care of myself, I also need to get my actual home in better order. Caregiving has done a number on my inner domestic goddess, and the subsequent bouts of Covid have not helped. Himself does what he can, which is actually quite a bit, bless him, but the Migraine Monster isn't doing him any favors either. There is always more To Be Done, of course.
I am making progress by focusing on what I can do each day and doing it to the best of my (energetic) ability. If I make Putting My House in Order my primary focus, perhaps I will emerge from this eclipse and retrograde period in much better shape and with more energy to direct to that original Plan I came up with all the way back in January! That is, at least, my intention.
I will pop into Notes when I can and comment on other posts when I can string a few words together, which doesn't always happen. In the meantime, know that I'm still here, just putting my Word for this year into practice. Pivot Ongoing; Please Stand By.
(Now watch: I'll get back into a consistent groove having said all this. That would be a natural outcome of All Tricksters Day, wouldn't it?)
Ugh. I hope you feel better soon!
See if your insurance will cover the dental device that spares you the CPAP. No noise or thing over your face!
I feel so much of your pain. There’s some buzz in the LC world about us having iron absorption issues, rendering even the best supplements powerless to help. Let me try to put my hands on that study.
